Part 4 of 5 regarding some suggestions to help reduce costs and improve energy efficiency in specific areas of your home.

The lighting in your home can be the hidden energy waster! Yet it’s also one of the easiest and cheapest things to upgrade!

 

Follow these simple steps to start reducing costs!

• Switch the lights off when the room is not in use.

• Use natural lighting wherever possible.

• Install more efficient LED (light emitting diodes) or CFL (compact fluorescent light)lamps when new bulbs are needed.

LED lighting is much more efficent than the alternatives

• Use reading lamps in the evening instead of keeping the main lights on. 

• Use low wattage sensor lamps for night lights around the home if necessary.
